Office of Health Education
The Office of Health Education is in the Division of Curriculum and Instruction, Department of Special Programs, along with the Offices of Physical Education and Dance. The Office of Health Education is responsible for designing and maintaining the health education curriculum in Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS).
Additionally, the Office of Health Education:
- Provides professional development to health education teachers.
- Supplies instructional resources to support the curriculum.
- Cooperates with other curriculum content offices to provide cross-curricular connections.
- Plans with the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools and other student services offices to deliver drug abuse and violence prevention programs.
- Administers grant programs, as available, to enhance the health education program.
- Collaborates with other county offices and outside community agencies to support the health education program.
- Participates in the BCPS School Health Council, which directs the implementation of the BCPS Wellness Policy, reviews materials for the instructional program, and facilitates the collaboration among stakeholders in the Coordinated School Health Model.
