Ensuring an equitable learning environment for all students!The Office of Equity and Cultural Proficiency works with schools, offices, and the community to ensure that implementation of the mission and goals of the school system meet quality standards and address effective and equitable outcomes for all students. To that end and in accordance with Baltimore County Public Schools’ (BCPS) Blueprint for Progress, the Office provides assistance through efforts such as professional development, assisting with exploring and monitoring initiatives related to minority students, and other efforts to ensure a learning environment that reflects both equity of access as well as equity of outcomes.
The Office also monitors compliance with the State of Maryland’s Education That Is Multicultural Regulation and provides a professional library for teachers and staff of BCPS related to schools, the classroom, multicultural education, and diversity issues.
