A video presenting social and/or science subject matter in a factual and formal manner.

Approximate Time Needed 360 minutes (180 research/write, 90 film, 90 edit)

Activities
  1. Show a sample of a science documentary
  2. Research topic

  4. Gather B-roll and stills
    • animal cells
    • plant cells
    • animals and plants (should match the cell types if possible)
  5. Storyboard
  6. Write script
    • Students use information found in their research to write their script
  7. Plan production
    • Think about where and when to film
    • Who is performing? Who is running the equipment? WHO'S IN CHARGE?
  8. Rehearse
  9. Shoot and compile
  10. Edit final product
    • Use MovieMaker (or other software)
    • Import the video from camera and/ or other sources
    • Arrange video / pictures
    • Add transitions and titles
    • Edit audio
    • Finalize and save
