Description/Overview

Integrated with the Patriot or Loyalist Research Model.

A debate show which highlights the differences between those American colonists who supported Britain versus those who favored independence.

Approximate Time Needed 130-170 minutes: 120 minutes to research and prepare for debate, 10-15 to conduct debate and video, 45 minutes for post-editing (optional).

Analyze views, lives and contributions of significant people of the Revolutionary period.

Analyze the turning points in the Revolutionary War and the importance of aid from France and Spain in the American Victory.

    • If not doing any post editing, this step can be skipped.
  5. Prepare for debate
    • Write opening and closing statements
    • Prepare questions to ask opposing side (focus on their weaknesses)
    • Try to anticipate what questions you will be asked, and prepare answers
  6. Plan production
    • Think about where and when to film
    • Who is debating / moderating? Who is running the equipment? WHO'S IN CHARGE?
  7. Conduct debate / record
  8. Edit final product (optional)
    • Use MovieMaker (or other software)
    • Import the video from camera and/ or other sources
    • Arrange video / pictures
    • Add transitions and titles
    • Edit audio
    • Finalize and save
  9. Present/ share
