General Chemistry
General
Chemistry Online from Frostburg University
Search a library of over 800 compounds, formulas, and structures.
Also find tutorials, quizzes, FAQ, and an exam survival guide.
The Virtual Library: Chemistry
This site is a plethora
of links to academic institutions, organizations, special projects
and other WWW Chemistry resources.
Life,
the Universe and the Electron
A wonderful site that was built
by the London (UK) Science Museum in 1997 to celebrate the centenary
of the discovery of the electron.
Chemistry
Index / Chemie-Index
A collection of links to a wide variety of searchable databases.
These in include indexes of chemical names, fundamental physical
constants, SI units, and convesion factors. A link to an amino
acid database supplies information on symbols, molecular weight,
CAS registry numbers, and a diagram of the molecular structure.
Another database can be searched for abbreviations of chemical
compounds.
College Physics for Students of Biology
and Chemistry
"This is a hypertextbook written for first-year undergraduate
physics students. It assumes that you have a working knowledge
of algebra, that you are currently taking or have taken a college
level course in Biology and one in Chemistry, and that you are
interested in biology, chemistry or one of the health-related
fields." Problem sets are included. Includes a table of
contents and an index.
Table
of the Nuclides
"A clickable chart presenting all known nuclides."
Periodic Table Toolbox
"This feature allows you to add different elements together
to make a custom compound, which will be displayed with accompanying
information such as Atomic Mass and Charge." This site requires
Internet Explorer 3.0 or Netscape Navigator 2.0 or higher.
PSIgate:
Physical Sciences Information Gateway
"PSIgate aims to provide high quality Internet resources
for students, researchers and practitioners in the physical sciences,
specifically in: astronomy, chemistry, earth sciences, physics,
and science history and policy. Along with the other hubs that
make up the RDN, PSIgate provides an online database of relevant,
high quality Internet resources, the Internet Resource Catalogue
(IRC). Each resource has been selected by information professionals
and subject specialists to ensure relevance and quality. A full
description of each resource is provided, together with direct
access to the resource itself."
High School Chemistry
Chemistry resources for high school students. Sections include:
Introduction to Chemistry; Periodic Tables; Molecular Structures;
Chemical References; Questions, Quizzes, Exam Prep; and Laboratory
Experiments. Also has other fun and interesting sites and interactive
flash cards games (good for practicing for tests) for matching
chemical element symbols, ions, and chemical names.
