Fairy Tale

... And They Read Happily Ever After: An MDK12 Digital Library Teacher-Librarian Partnership Grant Project
Presenter: Joquetta Johnson, LMS - Milford Mill Academy
Session 3: 2:00-3:00 Room: 200

This example of successful collaboration between a school library media specialist and a classroom teacher is based on the presenter's participation in the 2006 MDK12 Digital Library Teacher-Librarian Collaborative Project. By using the "Culture Through Literature" online research model and the SIRS databases, 10th grade students identify and explain how cultural values are reflected in literature, theater, and music. This is a collaborative, student-centered project in which students present their findings via a multimedia, oral, theatrical, or musical presentation.
