 RE: Parent Internet Education

Baltimore County Public Schools are poised to set the stage for a national movement in information technology.
We want you to become involved in the initial phase by completing and returning the enclosed 1998 Parent Internet Education Survey. The survey information is extremely important for planning a variety of Internet learning opportunities and events for families.

The Office of Library Information Services has joined with several other public and private agencies to develop and deliver a series of Internet learning opportunities for families. This initiative promises to join us to President Clinton's quest to build a family-friendly Internet. The Parent Internet Education (P.I.E) initiative will offer parents of Baltimore County Public Schools students a variety of learning experiences to demonstrate that the Internet can be a safe, educational, valuable, and entertaining resource for families.

To that end, we are planning the following:

We have learned that Baltimore County is leading the nation as a model for Parent Internet Education (P.I.E). No other school system in the country has undertaken to offer system wide as many Internet learning experiences to as many of its parents. By returning the enclosed survey, you will help us help all parents and guardians to Get a Piece of the P.I.E.!
