Rationale
The compelling research studies in the school library media field prove that quality school library media programs significantly contribute to student achievement. Quality library media programs are evidenced when students have access to:
- certified library media specialists who integrate information and technology outcomes with the curriculum through collaboration and planning with
subject/grade level teachers. - an organized collection of carefully selected information resources that are current, support the curriculum, and address the varied interests and ability levels of students.
The Blueprint for Progress will provide the framework for all staff development programs. The content will focus on training that will enhance library media specialists in their roles as :
- Teacher
- Instructional Partner
- Information Specialist
- Program Administrator
