Once the needed information is located, the student must connect ideas by sorting the information in an ordering scheme and . Students begin to visualize relationships between ideas when they organize information into a cluster/idea map. As a result, retention and recall are enhanced. Provided guided practice and modeling to assist students in learning how to manage time, resources, and documents. Organization of both physical and mental workspaces is essential to avoiding student frustration, anxiety, loss of important documents, resources, and time. Teachers should scaffold the use of technological tools to support physical and mental workspace organization. Teachers should model and enforce ethical use of intellectual property and responsible and safe use of the technologies. Ideally, through practice and modeling, students will leaner to self monitor their ethical and responsible use of information and technologies, including avoiding plagiarism, copyright infringement, and incorrect/lack of citation.
