Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center

  • Click on Critical Thinking to locate the controversial current issue you selected for your persuasive speech topic.
  • Read the Topic Overview and Viewpoint Essays to gather notes on your Cornell Notes for Persuasion Organizer.
    • If headphones are available and with your teacher's permission , you may listen to these articles as you read along.

SIRS Researcher

  • Use the Leading Issues menu to locate the controversial current issue you selected for your persuasive speech topic.
    • OPTION 1: Follow directions #1-4 under My Analysis for your issue; your teacher may also direct you to print out the linked PDF Research Guide for further research outside the computer lab.
