 Enduring Knowledge

  This unit is designed for students to examine how today's culture has changed the definition of luxuries and necessities in their lives. They will defend their personal opinions about what they truly need and about how these needs change in different stages if their lives. Students will also learn about how the definition of necessities and luxuries changes based upon time and culture by exploring the ancient American civilizations.

Overarching Question

  What can archeologists learn about the lives and priorities of people of past civilizations by studying their unearthed possessions?
