Investigating Food Science

Writing Prompt

By now you have researched and reported on a food science topic and have heard or seen several other reports on a wide variety of related topics.

Imagine that your Public Relations Department has now been told that there is only enough funding to publish the information from one of the research reports. Your boss has asked you and the other members of your department to write him a letter stating which topic among all that were presented is, in your opinion, the most important one. He has also asked for specific details that will explain why you feel this way. Your choice should be one that would enable consumers to solve a problem or make important decisions about their food choices.

Before you begin to write, think about all of the details that you have heard about all of the topics. Think about which information is most important and which would best enable consumers to make wise food choices.

Now write a letter to your boss explaining your choice of topics along with details that support that choice.
