Organize Ideas to Create Something New

Analyze your research graphic organizer to determine:

  • Why this symbol is important to Americans?

Synthesize your findings by creating your hat and writing the information card. (Synthesis is the act of pulling your research and ideas together to form new meaning.)

  • What new ideas have you formed about American patriotism?
  • Which facts should be on your information card?
  • Create your hat, reflecting an American symbol.

Evaluate your research for the information card.

  • Have you gathered enough information to write your information card?

Review your hat design checklist to make sure you have included all the information required.
