 *Scenario

*The Maryland Zoo wants to create a display to teach children about how animals use camouflage! They are trying to decide which habitat to create and what animals to include in their display. They want their displays to have the most opportunities to teach children how animals use camouflage to protect themselves. In addition the display will focus on student research about animals, habitats, and camouflage.

------------------------------------------------------- *Here is how to help them decide!

  1. Research different animal habitats.

  2. Research different types of camouflage.

  3. Research different animals that use camouflage.

  4. Participate in a number of experiments.

*You will create your own habitat display using the research you have found. You will need to include animals that use camouflage in your habitat display. Your final project will be sent to the Baltimore Zoo. You will be contacted by the Zoo and the winner will be invited to a presentation of all the displays that have been completed.

--Good LUCK!!!!!!

Keep Going!

  1. Analyze and compare the data that you have collected.
  2. Revisit your completed product.
  3. Analyze your conclusions.

-If you do not have enough information, return to the Resources page and look for more information.

*Task

*The Baltimore Zoo has just announced that they have chosen the Rain Forest Habitat to be on display!

*STEPS TO SUCCESS:

  1. Now that you have completed an experiment and recorded your results FIND examples of animals for each of the four types of camouflage.
  2. Record the animals that you found!
  3. Analyze and synthesize your findings by answering the following questions!

*Product

*Now that you have completed your task, choose two animals that use camouflage from this list.

*Finally choose a product  below to display your research for the Baltimore Zoo.
