If necessary (and with your teacher's permission), you may use a Search Engine to do a keyword search for additional Web sites with information about your topic. If you do so, be sure to evaluate the Web sites you find.

Check the Japan section of one of the CultureGrams databases for information about your topic:

  • CultureGrams Secondary
    • Click on World Edition. Then select Japan from the drop down menu or click-able world map.
  • CultureGrams Kids Edition
    • Select Japan from the drop down menu or click-able world map.

Do a keyword search in one of these BCPS/Maryland Digital Library online databases:

  • SIRS Discoverer
  • Discoverer WebFind
  • World Book Online

  • Check the Japan article in the following reference sets for information about your topic:
    • Junior Worldmark Encyclopedia of Nations
    • Junior Worldmark Encyclopedia of Culture
    • Lands and Peoples (Grolier)
    • People and Places (World Book)
  • Do a keyword search in the school library's Automated Library Catalog to find other reference and nonfiction books about Japan or about your research topic.
  • Do a keyword search in indexes or tables of contents in nonfiction and reference books to locate information related to your topic and research questions.
