Student Safety Con= tract

 

All scientists- like you- are careful when they work.  You need to be careful in science, too.  Here are some safety tip= s you should always follow:

 

1.&n= bsp;   Before you do an activity or change anything about the directions, you must get the permission of your teacher.

2.&n= bsp;   Read all of the directions before you start.  If you do no understand them, ask an adult for help.  =

3.&n= bsp;   Follow the directions carefully. It may be helpful to check off the directions that you already completed so that you = can keep track of your progress.

4.&n= bsp;   Obey all safety instructions that may be included as part of the procedure.

5.&n= bsp;   Always wear goggles or an apron when the instructions tell you to.

6.&n= bsp;   Never taste anything unless your teacher say= s it is ok.  Do not touch your eyes= or mouth while you are working with plants, animals, or chemicals!<= /span>

7.&n= bsp;   Be extra careful when using cutting tools or sources of heat.

8.&n= bsp;   Always clean up spills right away.  Ask your teacher where you should dispose of the liquid.

9.&n= bsp;   After you have completed the activity, clean= up and put things back where they belong.&nbs= p; Wash your hands, if possible.
