Classify Earth’s surface features as either land or water. c. Use models to demonstrate ways that the Earth’s surface changes. 2. Describe the properties of Earth materials (i.e., soils, rocks, water) and explain how they change and what causes those changes (i.e., weather and erosion). a. Describe ways that earth materials are moved from one place to another. b. Use models to demonstrate weathering and erosion. 3. Classify rocks based on sizes and shapes from boulders to grains of sand and even smaller. a. Observe, describe, and classify a variety of earth materials.
