Vision and Mission Statements
Purpose

Vision statements can take many forms. They answer the question: "What will success look like?" Their main purpose is to articulate the "dream" state of the library media center. Knowing the path and communicating it to all...on a day-to-day basis...are both esstential to administering dynamic library media programs for students and staff. "The value in knowing your final destination (your vision) is that you can choose to take the specific paths that lead you there. Your action is intentional and keeps you pointed in the right direction." Sideroad

There is a saying, "If not the lead sled dog, the view never changes."

Task All graduate students will investigatge library media vision statements, research, and marketing resources to develop a vision and mission statement for the library media center. The vision and mission statement must be in align with Baltimore County Public Schools Blueprint for Progress, Master Plan, and the school mission, goals, and program. See class notes of October 4th.
