| Team Task: Automation (Library and Textbooks) OPAC | |
| Purpose | Participants will investigate and present the Follett's web-based Destiny software solution for both library and textbook materials. that will be made available for the library media center. The schools presently on the Destiny web server http://destiny.bcps.org will serve as the demonstration site for Follett's Destiny web-based automation system for both library materials and textbooks. Please see instructor for "guest administrator" login protocol. You can now access the library collections at the server as a guest - no login needed. |
| Task | The task involves participants learning about the web-based automation software, reporting on the benefits of a web-based solution (WAN) for instruction and management in comparison to a local area solution (LAN), recommend logistics for implementation (inventory, barcoding, receipt, and storage of textbooks and library materials), and plan meaningful staff development for teachers. |
