Mission
The Department of Fiscal Services is dedicated
to providing accurate financial information, and quality customer
service to employees, community members, and outside agencies.
Our staff strives to effectively and efficiently provide timely
access to functional information.
Department Description
The Chief Financial Officer oversees the operations
of the Offices of the Controller, Budget and Reporting, and
Payroll. The Department of Fiscal Services is the first point
of contact for budgetary and financial information for the
public and federal, state, and county fiscal authorities on
behalf of the Board of Education and Superintendent. The Department
of Fiscal Services ensures that the supporting offices operate
in an efficient and effective manner and complies with all
relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Additionally,
the Chief Financial Officer serves as staff liaison to the
Budget and Audit Committee of the Board of Education.
Goals
- The annual operating and capital budgets will be developed
and administered in a timely and accurate manner.
- The Department of Fiscal Services’ staff will effectively
and efficiently provide timely access to functional information.
- Explore processes and software to increase electronic
purchasing, electronic submission of payroll data, and electronic
access to financial reports.
- Involve staff and stakeholders in the budget process.
