Student News Reporters Intern Requirements/Responsibilities
The
Student News intern will work closely with one of The Education Channel's
producers to create a half-hour news program, the focus of which
will be events in the Baltimore County Public Schools system. This
position is recommended for those interested in Television Journalism.
He/she will play a key role in producing each edition of the news
show, which will be recorded to tape in our Towson studio every other
week. Responsibilities may include writing scripts, reporting
news on camera, booking and producing news and feature
segments, logging video, and performing other duties -- both office-
and production-related --as needed. The intern, once accepted,
will work with his/her supervisor to arrange a weekly schedule. He/she
should be available for Thursday afternoon news tapings. While
interns' schedules are usually consistent from week to week, shoots
cannot always be planned within their normal office hours. Therefore,
it is helpful if they can maintain a certain degree of flexibility. The
intern must have his/her own transportation.
