Student Art Break

Visual arts are an integral part of the Baltimore County Public Schools curriculum, and the school system has won accolades for its arts instruction. In 2007, The Maryland Art Education Association named BCPS educators as Teachers of the Year at the elementary, middle, and high school levels for their innovative arts instruction as well as for their efforts to enhance arts education locally and nationally. And in 2005, The College Board named George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology as having the best studio arts program in the world among similar-sized high schools.

County-wide exhibits—at  at Walters Art Museum, The Baltimore Museum of Art, the Community College of Baltimore County-Dundalk, Goucher College, and other venues—showcase student work and create broader opportunities for BCPS visual arts students. The Education Channel shines a spotlight on the student artwork featured in these exhibits as Student Art Break takes viewers through an on-screen gallery tour of images of artwork set  to music.
