The BCPS Web Services is responsible for:

• The design and maintenance of the BCPS district Web site and all offices hosted on it.
• Coordinating and assisting school webmasters with school Web site development.
• The development of internal and external Web-based applications facilitate both business services and curriculum and instruction processes.
• Evaluate, recommend, and assist with the administrative support of third-party Web-based products and services.

The BCPS Web site is a coordinated effort between Web Services, the Office of Communications, and other offices. It provides easy access to a vast amount of information about the system including school status updates, event notification and coverage, Board of Education meeting resources and much more. Our collective goal is to allow our visitors the quickest route to obtain information about virtually any aspect of the school system.

School Web sites are developed and maintained by school webmasters. The school webmaster must be an employee of BCPS and must be designated by the principal of the school for which they are developing the site. Web Services provides support and assistance in their Web site development efforts.

Web Services is also responsible for the development of Web-based applications designed for use by the community and our employees. These applications are designed to make information and services that were once only accessible by telephone and paper available electronically. Through the development of these applications, we are continually working to provide more information and offer more services to the public, as well as to our employees in an effort to facilitate communication, streamline processes, and increase efficiency.
