The Baltimore County Public Schools Office of Communications provides timely, transparent, and clear two-way communications to support academic achievement for all students and overall school system effectiveness.  The office positively promotes, markets, and shares positive stories that highlight the extraordinary work taking place daily in classrooms across Baltimore County; encourage community support and involvement; and describe opportunities for growth.

The office provides communications support to the superintendent, Board of Education, and principals, and:

• Handles media relations
• Manages an educational television station and produces original programming
• Manages systemwide events, such as recognition and award ceremonies
• Develops systemwide electronic and print publications
• Creates content for BCPS Web site main pages and social media accounts (e.g. Facebook and Twitter)
• Coordinates Teacher of the Year program
• Produces multimedia content for offices, departments, and the BCPS Web site
• Coordinates a systemwide network of Good News Ambassadors
