Employee Benefits, Leaves and Retirement, in the Office of Personnel Services, is part of the Department of Human Resources, and is responsible for administering Board of Education (Board) and Human Resources (HR) approved leaves of absence and conversions.
Leaves of Absence and Conversions (Conversion of Personal Illness to Family Illness)
Application: To apply for a leave of absence or conversion, please click on the Application for Leave of Absences and Conversions to download the application. Please complete the application and review the Leave Requirements and Information Sheet related to the leave or conversion for which you are applying. You can obtain the Leave Requirements and Information Sheet for a particular leave of absence by clicking on the type of leave in the chart below.
The Baltimore County Public Schools offers both HR and Board approved leaves of absence and conversions for employees. Eligibility for these leaves may vary according to the laws, regulations, and the specific bargaining unit agreements.
