Employee Benefits & Retirement

The Office of Employee Benefits & Retirement, in Personnel Services, is part of the Department of Human Resources, and is responsible for developing and administering high-quality, competitive employee benefits that enable the school system to maintain and recruit a quality workforce.

Additionally, the Office of Employee Benefits & Retirement:

  • Administers all benefit plans for employees and retirees
  • Administers open enrollment and handles all election changes
  • Processes all qualifying life change enrollments
  • Administers COBRA enrollment and billing
  • Administers dependent student certification process
  • Conducts new hire benefits orientations
  • Coordinates the process for retirement with the State and County retirement systems
  • Provides retirement information conferences for employees upon request
