The Office of Employee Benefits & Retirement, in Personnel Services, is part of the Department of Human Resources, and is responsible for developing and administering high-quality, competitive employee benefits that enable the school system to maintain and recruit a quality workforce.
Additionally, the Office of Employee Benefits & Retirement:
- Administers all benefit plans for employees and retirees
- Administers open enrollment and handles all election changes
- Processes all qualifying life change enrollments
- Administers COBRA enrollment and billing
- Administers dependent student certification process
- Conducts new hire benefits orientations
- Coordinates the process for retirement with the State and County retirement systems
- Provides retirement information conferences for employees upon request
