The AVID Elective Class

Students who are selected for the AVID elective class voluntarily participate with the approval of their parents or guardians. These are students who demonstrate the potential to perform successfully in rigorous courses such as Honors, Gifted/Talented and Advanced Placement. In the AVID Elective class, students receive academic support regarding reading, writing, organizational and management skills using the AVID “WIC-R” curriculum. WIC-R stands for writing, inquiry, collaboration, and reading skills which are included in each lesson.
