The ultimate goal of AVID is to prepare students for college success as well as the world of work.  In the first 2006 graduating AVID class, 98% of the students applied to colleges and universities.

In 2007, 97% of the graduating AVID students applied to colleges and universities with more than $1.2 million dollars worth of scholarships reported by 31 of the 117 AVID graduates.

In the 2008 graduating AVID class, 99% of the students applied to colleges and universities with more than $ 3.3 million dollars worth of scholarships reported by 31 of 170 graduates.  Woodlawn High School AVID graduates garnered more than $1 million dollars worth of scholarships during 2008.  

In the 2009 graduating AVID class, 95% of the students applied to colleges and universities with again more than $3.3 million dollars worth of scholarships. Many AVID seniors received scholarships to colleges and universities such as University of Maryland, College Park, Towson State University, College of Notre Dame, Morehouse, Frostburg, Washington and Jefferson, Hood, Penn State, Wesley College, Morehouse, American University, University of Maryland, Baltimore County, Community Colleges of Baltimore County, Howard University, Morgan State University, Lincoln University, Frostburg State University, Pennsylvania College of Art and Design, and Villa Julie. 

In the 2010 graduating AVID class, 94% of the students applied to colleges and universities earning more than $9 million dollars in scholarships.
