Alternative Education Scholarships
Maryland Senatorial Scholarship
Who may apply: Students planning to enroll as full-time or part-time, degree-seeking undergraduate at a 2-year or 4-year public or independent college or university located in Maryland may apply. Students attending private career schools in Maryland are also eligible to apply.
How to apply: Students should apply by completing and filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1. The FAFSA is available at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Students should contact their State Senator for additional application procedures. Their contact information can be found at http://www.baltimorecountymd.gov/Agencies/elections/notaryscholarship.html or by calling 1-800-492-7122. Students should also complete the 2007-2008 Alternative Education Scholarship Application Packet. Please note that the Alternative Education Scholarship Application Packet does NOT get sent to the senator’s office.
Eligibility: Students must demonstrate financial need. Each senator may apply additional eligibility requirements.
Award amount: Award amounts range from a minimum of $400 to a maximum of $2,000. Each senator determines the number of scholarships to be awarded.
Application deadline: Each senator determines the application deadline, however, you are asked to send a copy of your senator application and your Alternative Education Scholarship Application Packet by April 3, 2008 to:
