Alternative Education Scholarships

Howard P. Rawlings Educational Assistance (EA) Grant

Who may apply: Students planning to enroll as full-time (12 + credits a semester), degree-seeking undergraduates at a 2-year or 4-year public or independent college or university in Maryland may apply.

How to apply: Full-time undergraduate student should apply by completing and filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) no later than March 1. The FAFSA is available at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Students should also complete the 2007-2008 Alternative Education Scholarship Application Packet.

Eligibility: Awards are based on need. Students with the lowest Expected Family Contribution (EFC) are awarded first.

Award amount: Award amounts range from $400 - $3,000. (If a student is offered and accepts certain other State scholarships, your EA Grant may be recalculated).

Application deadline: FAFSA must be completed by March 1, 2008.
