Alternative Education, Dropout Prevention and Summer School
GED Classes for 16-21 Year Olds
At the Catonsville Alternative Center, Dundalk Middle, Kenwood High, New Town High, Riverview Elementary and Rosedale Alternative Center, the program is specifically designed to meet the needs of the young adult. Instruction combines preparation for the GED, job readiness/retention skills, and an opportunity to explore attaining skills in computer use and management.
DESCRIPTION:
- Offers Adult Basic Education and GED instruction
- Provides opportunities for individualized classroom instruction
- Explores workplace issues and related opprotunities
- Access computer-assisted instruction

REGISTRATION:
- No registration fee
- Day and Evening classes available
- Enrollment in August, October, January and March
- Must be at least 16 years old at time of registration and officially withdrawn from school
- Two forms of ID required: MD driver’s License OR MD Learner’s Permit OR MD Photo ID OR Birth Certificate PLUS Social Security Card
- Day Centers: Catonsville Center and Rosedale Center (morning and afternoon) – To register, call centers during scheduled class times to make an appointment (see schedules below)
