Registration and Intake Procedures
at the Evening High School
Students enrolling in evening high school credit courses
will register at the center where they will take the course.
Enrollment for Students in Day School (concurrently enrolled)
in Baltimore County Public Schools:
- Registration occurs in September and January only, as
listed in the fall and winter evening high school flier
- Students meet with their day school counselor and obtain
a completed evening high school admission form
- Students bring the completed admission form and a check
to cover the course fee to the evening high school where
the course is offered on the night of registration
- Students will begin class according to the date listed
on the flier
- Students with an IEP must bring a copy to registration
Enrollment for Students in Other School Systems:
- Registration occurs in September and January only, as
listed in the fall and winter evening high school flier
- Students will obtain a letter from their counselor stating
the course which the student is to take
- Students bring the letter and a check to cover the course
fee to the evening high school where the course is offered
on the night of registration
Enrollment for Adults Who Are No Longer in Day School (16-20 Years of Age):
- Registration occurs in September and January only, as
listed in the fall and winter evening high school flier
- If a potential high school graduate, the student must
obtain a copy of his/her high school transcript
- Transcripts may be obtained from the Office of Transcripts
located at 9610 Pulaski Park Drive, Suite 219, Baltimore,

- The adult will call the evening high school and make an
appointment to meet with a counselor; phone numbers and
counselor names are listed under enrollment for expelled
students
- The counselor will review the transcript, determine the
courses which must be taken to meet graduation requirements,
and develop a course schedule
- There is no course fee.
Enrollment for Day School Students Who Are Transferring From
a Day School Class to an Evening Class:
- The student will meet with his/her day school counselor
- The day school counselor will complete an evening high
school admission form and provide a letter stating that
the student is transferring from the day to the evening
class, signed by the counselor or administrator. On the
admission form, the counselor will include each quarter
grade including the current withdraw grade. If a student
is not in a Baltimore County Public School, a letter is
completed which must include the course to be taken with
the student's grades to date
- The student will call the evening high school and make
an appointment to meet with the counselors; phone numbers
and counselor names are listed under enrollment for expelled
students
- The transfer will not occur until the quarter (marking
period) ends; the student will start class at the beginning
of the new marking period. There is a course fee
Enrollment for Students Expelled from a Baltimore County
Public School:
- When the Superintendent's Designee decides that the student
is expelled, an evening high school admission form will
be completed by the Designee
- The student may choose to attend one or two evening schools
and/or Saturday school.
- An admission form will be completed for each school and
the counselor name and school phone number for each school
will be provided
- The student will contact the evening school during its
operating hours and schedule an intake meeting. The intake
will consist of registration for the course(s), a brief
meeting with a counselor to develop student goals and identify
needs, and a screening in reading.
- Students with an IEP must bring a copy to registration
as well as a snapshot and current graduating report. If
a student has a 504, a copy must be brought.
Following the intake meeting, the student will begin class
on the following night of classes. There is no course fee
for expelled students.
