Accounting and Financial Reporting
Controller's Office

The Office of Accounting & Financial Reporting is part of the Department of Fiscal Services. In accordance with the Baltimore County Public Schools Blueprint for Progress, the Office provides for the efficient use of resources and the delivery of business services by providing timely access to functional information for all system-wide accounting functions, including:

  • Customer Service and contact information
  • General accounting
  • Accounts payable (vendors payments, 1099’s)
  • Maintaining the Advantage Financial accounting system
  • Grants accounting
  • Capital project accounting
  • Banking and investments
  • School activity fund accounting
  • Monitoring, training, and assistance with  procurement cards.

The Financial Reporting group is responsible for:

  • Maintaining standard financial reports for managers and principals
  • Preparing monthly financial status reports to the Board of Education
  • The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), Single Audit Report, and periodic reports to State and Local funding authorities.
  • Oversight of external audits
  • Training and compliance assistance for BCPS grant managers and program staff
