The PSAT/NMSQT is a nationally norm-referenced,
standardized test owned and administered by the College Board. The
PSAT/NMSQT measures verbal reasoning skills, critical reading skills,
math problem solving skills and writing skills. The test is taken by
all students in grades 9 and 10 and some students in grades 8 and 11. The fee
for test takers in grades 9 and 10 is paid for by the Baltimore County
Public Schools. The PSAT/NMSQT provides practice for the SAT,
important feedback on areas of strength and weakness in order to focus
future SAT preparation and allows students to qualify for National
Merit Scholarship programs. Visit www.collegeboard.org
or contact a high school counselor for more information.
