The Advanced Placement (AP) tests are
standardized, norm-referenced subject matter tests requiring both
multiple choice and essay responses. Produced and administered by the
College Board each May, AP tests are typically taken by students who
have completed a specific AP course in high school. Depending on the
score obtained, many colleges and universities grant advanced college
credit for the course. The Baltimore County Public Schools continue to
expand the availability of AP course sections and subjects in all high
schools. Visit www.collegeboard.org
or contact a high school counselor for more information.
