The ACT Assessment is a national college
admission and placement examination. The ACT assesses high school
students' general educational development and their ability to
complete college-level work. The ACT assessment includes
multiple-choice tests that cover four skill areas: English,
mathematics, reading, and science. Additionally, there is an optional
writing test which measures skill in planning and writing a short
essay.
