The Department of Special Programs provides a wide-range of services for all students and the learning community by creating resources that support student achievement in school and beyond.

Additionally the Department of Special Programs:

• Provides leadership, advice, and assistance in programming for individual students in the areas supported by the Department.
• Initiates, promotes, and provides services to students participating in extracurricular and extended- curricular activities.
• Assesses the scope and quality of services provided to students in Special Programs providing oversight in the following areas: Special Education, Charter School Application Process, Overnight Field Trips/Foreign Travel, Gifted and Talented, Magnet Programs, Health Education, Physical Education, School Counseling, Visual Arts, and Music.
