    Allergies

It is recommended that baked goods be purchased from a commercial food establishment rather than home prepared.  This will help to ensure that all children are served food that is safe to eat and nutritional information will be available to students with dietary restrictions or allergies.

All types of nuts can be a healthy snack option; however, many students have nut and nut butter allergies.  Therefore, caution is advised when offering these items.

    Meal Regulations

Federal regulations prohibit the denial of school meals or milk as a disciplinary action against any student.  State regulations require meals to be offered to all students when schools are in session.  Lunch must be offered between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
