The Office of School to Career Transition supports programs and services that help to prepare students for their transition from school to career. Emphasis is on connecting students from career instruction pathways to business based experiences through job shadowing, internships, apprenticeships and work experiences. Students receive structured training and exploratory experience at work sites under the guidance of a selected business mentor. Most students, upon completion of their program, will receive a skill certificate, apprenticeship credit, state licensing, or industry recognized certification.
The School to Career Transition Office offers a variety of cooperative education programs. They include career oriented programs, diversified occupations, career and technology education completers, apprenticeships, tech prep programs, and job shadowing programs. Each program is briefly defined in the differentiation of programs section of the website. Please contact individual schools for specific program details.
