Parents, students invited to Northwest Area Schools Showcase Event

Opportunity to learn more about zoned schools – elementary, middle & high

TOWSON, MD. – Every parent would love a glimpse into his or her child’s future. The Northwest Area Schools Showcase Event promises parents the opportunity to see the high quality educational experiences that await students from elementary school through middle and high school.

The free Showcase Event, open to parents and students, will be held on Tuesday, June 5, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at Deer Park Middle Magnet School, 9830 Winands Rd. in Randallstown, 21133.

At the event, participants can learn more about the zoned schools in the northwest area by meeting teachers, principals, school counselors, and other staff; enjoying student performances and panel discussions; and engaging in parent Q&A sessions. The event will offer opportunities to learn more about specialized educational programs, student interest clubs, school-business partnerships, and other characteristics that distinguish these schools.

Special guests at the event will include Brendan Penn, 2018-2019 Baltimore County Teacher of the Year and a Grade 3 teacher at Lyons Mill Elementary, and Dr. Kandice Taylor, 2018-2019 Baltimore County Secondary Principal of the Year and principal at Deer Park Middle Magnet School.

Schools represented at the showcase event will be: Deer Park, Hernwood, Lyons Mill, New Town, Owings Mills, Randallstown, Scotts Branch, and Woodholme elementary schools; Deer Park Middle Magnet School and Northwest Academy of Health Sciences; and New Town, Owings Mills, and Randallstown high schools.
