BCPS students to participate in architecture, construction, engineering competition

What: Student teams from Eastern Technical High School, George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology, and Owings Mills High School will compete against eight other teams from area public and private schools during the culmination of the 2018 ACE Mentor program year. (ACE stands for architecture, construction, and engineering.) The event will begin with a reception featuring college/apprenticeship displays, followed by team presentations.

When: Wednesday, May 16, from 5:30 – 8 p.m.

Background: ACE Baltimore brings together architects, construction managers, engineers, designers, professional organizations, high schools, and universities to support high school students in exploring careers in the building professions.
For approximately 13 weeks, mentors from approximately 35 Baltimore-based firms meet weekly after school with high school teams for construction site tours, college visits, and team projects.
