Randallstown High's news magazine wins a prestigious national award

TOWSON, MD. - The Rams Horn news magazine, a publication of Randallstown High School's multi-media magnet program, won first place honors in the American Scholastic Press Association 2017 - 2018 magazine competition.

"As the principal of Randallstown High School, I take great pride in sharing the story of our tradition of excellence in Rams Nation," said Aubrey P. Brown. "Featured between the pages of The Rams Horn news magazine, readers will find examples of how our students and community members embody hope, strength, and success both in and beyond the classroom. We are delighted that the Rams Horn publication captures and preserves stakeholder contributions impacting the lives of each member of our school community."

The student magazine is produced by editor-in-chief Kwayera Wilkerson, layout editor Afkar Alwakil, and the following reporters: Candice Collins, Chyna Gaynor, Micheayl James, Tariq Johnson, Remique Richardson, Angel Turner, and Terrell Williams.

"The Rams Horn staff at Randallstown High School is committed to excellence," said Susan Ellerbee, staff advisor. "Each student takes an active role in the development of the news magazine. They take pride in our school, and they care about each and every product that bears the name Randallstown High School."

Ellerbee, a multi-media magnet teacher at Randallstown High, was recently named Region 2 Teacher of the Year by Magnet Schools of America.

In presenting the award, the American Scholastic Press Association judges said that the Rams Horn magazine "shows the superior efforts of talented and creative editors, writers, artists, photographers, layout/graphics, designers, staff members, contributors, and advisor."
