Stakeholders invited to wear blue on Team BCPS Day

TOWSON, MD — On Team BCPS Day 2018 – Thursday, Jan. 11 – Baltimore County Public Schools invites all of its stakeholders to wear blue to show pride in the school system and to share photos on social media (using #BCPSblue).

As in past years, students, teachers, staff, alumni, business partners, neighbors, area colleges, and more are encouraged to participate.

Awards will be given in a wide range of categories, such as:

  • favorite nonhuman Team BCPS members (last year one of the winners was a pet pig)
  • best staff video
  • most far-flung (last year that was a former staff person now teaching in Abu Dhabi – 7,005 miles away)
  • best hair
  • best music video
  • best use of drone
  • largest group
  • newest member of Team BCPS (future students)
  • best multilingual spirit
  • best embodiment of Team BCPS
“Team BCPS Day is one of my favorite days of the year,” said Interim Superintendent Verletta White. “It is an outstanding opportunity to celebrate our unity and to recognize the reach of our school system and our relationships with and impact on individuals, businesses, and neighborhoods. January 11, 2018, will be my first Team BCPS Day as interim superintendent so I am hoping that it will be the biggest and best one ever. You – our students, staff, alumni, and community partners – can make that happen."

Prior to Team BCPS Day, alumni and business partners are invited to submit written or video messages about how and why they are part of BCPS. These messages can be sent to any time on or before Jan. 11, or shared via social media.

Photos from last year’s Team BCPS Day can be viewed on the school system’s Flickr page.
