The perfect ending to Team BCPS Day 2018? Free tickets for BCPS employees to Towson Univ. basketball game

TOWSON, MD – The Tigers of Towson University are joining in the celebration of Baltimore County Public Schools Team BCPS Day (Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018) by offering free tickets to BCPS employees and their family members for the Towson Tigers game against rival Hofstra University.

On Team BCPS Day each year, BCPS students, staff, alumni, and community partners wear blue and share photos on social media to celebrate the school system’s unity and impact. At their 7 p.m. game on Jan. 11, the Towson Tigers join in the celebration by hosting Educators Appreciation Night. In addition to the basketball game, the evening will feature special on-court recognition of Team BCPS members and the participation of a BCPS JROTC Color Guard for the national anthem.

Each BCPS employee can receive four complimentary tickets, and additional tickets can be purchased at a discounted $5 price. Tickets are available now and can be obtained by calling 1-855-TU-TIGER (1-855-888-4437), emailing 4tigertix@towson.edu, or presenting a copy of the event flyer at the SECU Arena Ticket Office.

The event is sponsored by MedStar Sports Medicine, Under Armour, NewDay USA, and the Towson Tigers.

Leading up to the game, on Jan. 8 and 9, members of the Towson University men’s and women’s basketball teams, and Doc the TU Mascot, will visit two BCPS schools. In keeping with the BCPS systemwide emphasis on literacy across all content areas, BCPS students will prepare for the visit by writing about their goals for 2018. The Towson University student-athletes will come prepared to share their aspirations for the new year and to talk about the importance of setting and keeping goals.

These events are part of an ongoing partnership between Towson University Athletics and Baltimore County Public Schools. Last month, Towson football provided free transportation, admission, and meal vouchers so that hundreds of BCPS JROTC members could attend a Military Appreciation Day game against Rhode Island. Next month, Towson basketball will do the same for a Military Appreciation Day game against Elon on Saturday, Jan. 27.
