BCPS honored with 7 national awards for its communications efforts

TOWSON, MD — The Baltimore County Public Schools Department of Communications and Community Outreach has received seven National School Public Relations Association awards for its publications and electronic media.

BCPS received merit awards for its blog (Deliberate Excellence), e-newsletter, and Team BCPS Day social media campaign.

In addition, BCPS received honorable mentions for its calendar (2016-2017); excellence in writing (What’s in a Grade?); marketing publication (for the Early College Program @ Woodlawn High School); and special purpose publication (the Chinese Cultural Exchange brochure).

“These honors reflect our commitment to telling our own story and telling it effectively,” said Mychael Dickerson, chief communications officer for BCPS. “I am so proud of our team for its work and of this administration for understanding what a powerful tool communications can be in fostering collaboration, garnering support, and engaging the community.”
