Committee to meet at Hereford Middle to consider Hereford High attendance boundary lines

Process will examine feeder lines from middle school to high school

What: A committee charged with considering adjustments to attendance boundary lines for Hereford High School will meet to weigh data and options related to the school’s boundaries. The committee may consider changes to the high school boundary lines that would make Hereford Middle School a full feeder school to the high school, which is currently undergoing a renovation and addition project. The committee, which is composed of parents, community members, school officials, and representatives of affected schools, ultimately will determine whether or not to recommend a boundary line change to the Board of Education.

The committee will decide at its first meeting whether additional meetings are required prior to a public forum on the issue, which has been set for Wednesday, December 4. Individuals who are not on the committee are welcome to attend the meeting to observe the process, but not to actively participate. The process for drawing boundary lines for new schools is contained in Board of Education Policy and Rule 1280 and specifies examples of criteria for determining new boundary lines.
