Education Foundation director to speak at National Parental Involvement Day event

TOWSON, MD— Debbie Phelps, director of The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools, will be the featured speaker at a National Parental Involvement Day event sponsored by the Houston, Texas-based Cooperative for After-School Enrichment.

The event will take place on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at the Houston Garden Center, and will include a presentation by Phelps, a Family Engagement Resource Fair, and a panel discussion on successful parenting with Phelps and others.

The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools is an independent, community-based organization that mobilizes public, private, and corporate support for public education in Baltimore County. In partnership with Baltimore County Public Schools, it uses that support and resources to advance student academic achievement and invest in teaching and learning.

Phelps has more than 30 years experience in education and is also widely known as a motivational speaker, author of A Mother for All Seasons, and mother of Olympian Michael Phelps and two successful daughters.
