What: More than 110 prime bidders will showcase their businesses to minority subcontractors at “Meet the Primes," the fourth annual meet-and-greet event initiated by Baltimore County Public Schools. This year, the event is cosponsored by the Baltimore Metropolitan Council, and more than 1,000 attendees are expected. When: Wednesday, October 17, 2012, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Where: Maryland State Fairgrounds Exhibition Hall 2200 York Road Timonium, MD 21093 Background: Meet the Primes is designed to showcase businesses that either hire minority business enterprise (MBE) subcontractors or assist MBE companies with financing, business management, or marketing. Baltimore County Public Schools created the event to enhance its already strong MBE program by increasing prime bidders’ knowledge of area minority subcontractors and giving them the opportunity to meet face–to–face to discuss qualifications and areas of specialty.
