Can’t find it? BCPS Web site offers new help navigating the school system

TOWSON, MD— With the click of a mouse, Baltimore County Public Schools has just made it easier to find resources in the school system using the BCPS Web site at www.bcps.org. The Web site’s home page now features a “Directories" link that consolidates in one place separate directories for offices, schools, and parent resources. The links under the “Directories" tab feature comprehensive lists and connections to all of the system’s schools, offices, and resources, including those most frequently sought by parents. The new feature of the home page is part of the school system’s effort, led by Superintendent Dr. S. Dallas Dance, to have timely, transparent, and clear communications and to be responsive to community requests and interests. BCPS also recently debuted a page on its Web site (www.bcps.org/construction/) aimed at improving community access to project, site, and floor plans for upcoming and ongoing school construction projects. Other initiatives of this effort include the new Deliberate Excellence blog (www.deliberateexcellence.wordpress.com) and a Superintendent’s Twitter account (www.twitter.com/DDance_BCPS). Other elements of the BCPS’ social media resources are the system’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/BaltCoPS ) and Twitter account (www.twitter.com/BaltCoPS ).
