Summer school classes continue Baltimore County Public Schools summer schools classes continue for most programs through Friday, August 3. Last year, thousands of students participated in summer school courses and programs, including those that cater to a variety of students who are looking for enhanced educational opportunities and academic advancement. This year, at 10 summer school centers across Baltimore County, students will take courses from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon for elementary and middle school students, and from 7:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. for high school students. Contact: Office of Alternative Education, 410.887.2270 Summer Visual Arts Enrichment Camp begins final week The Baltimore County Summer Visual Arts Enrichment Camp provides an opportunity for students in grades 3 through 12 to build their personal art skills and add to their art portfolios. A variety of courses are offered to meet the varied needs and interests of students. The program runs each day through Friday, July 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and all courses will be held at Perry Hall High School, 4601 Ebenezer Road in Perry Hall. Courses include An Exploration of Artists and their Materials for students entering grades 3 through 5, An Exploration of New Art Forms & Materials for students entering grades 6 through 8, and Portfolio Development for students entering grades 9 through 12. An open house and reception will be held on Thursday, July 19, to give students, parents, and teachers an opportunity to share in the Summer Enrichment Program experience and see the artworks created over the two-week program.
